The villages of Imi Tazgi and Azioul, next stops of a project Bicis para la Vida by ŠKODA with which Getafe CF Foundation also collaborates

The Bicis para la Vida by ŠKODA project returns to Morocco. The most solidary initiative of the Alberto Contador Foundation, supported by the Czech automobile firm and the Fundación Seur , starts this Friday a new altruistic trip to the territory of the Moroccan High Atlas. The youngest population of the villages of Imi Tazgi and Azioul will be the beneficiaries of an expedition that will distribute fifty bicycles previously developed by the AMP of Pinto. This will be the second action on the ground to take place in 2019.

In view of this experience, the Alberto Contador Foundation has received other very generous donations of material from some of its sponsors. In this sense, the sports firm John Smith, a brand that provides all the streetwear worn by cyclists and staff, has given 40 pairs of slippers. Sportlast, leaders in the manufacture of compression clothing for athletes and professionals, famous for their compression stockings, has also wanted to cooperate by sending a large number of socks.

The Getafe Club de Fútbol Foundation joins this trip with great interest. This institution provides a large box of football equipment, technical clothes that will delight the youngest of Imi Tazgi and Azioul both in their football games and in the incipient football competitions in which the children of the different human settlements of the Tessaout Valley face each other. Paco Romero, in charge of Bicis para la Vida by ŠKODA, was in charge of captaining the collection of material from the Madrid football club on Thursday 12 September.

“In the Alberto Contador Foundation we have received with great joy this great support that a whole First Division club such as Getafe offers us and it can even be said that the most solidary side of two sports such as cycling and football shake hands and reach out for a common good. That its directors consider our project Bicis para la Vida by ŠKODA relevant and do not hesitate to help us carry out a new journey of solidarity, with all the complexity that this type of travel always has, is something that gives us special satisfaction as we are going to be able to help even more, and more groups,” says Romero.

“From the Getafe CF Foundation we are very proud to collaborate in this beautiful initiative, even more so with such an extraordinary travelling companion as the Alberto Contador Foundation”, says Diego García, its general manager. “It is an initiative of social commitment totally aligned with the values and ideas of the Getafe CF Foundation where we have numerous projects aimed at promoting diversity, equal opportunities, inclusion, respect and of course, to support those groups that need it most. We believe that the values conveyed by sport, whether cycling or football, are really positive for the training of people and especially for the training of children. We are aware of the illusion generated by wearing a shirt of a football team of La Liga, so with our humble contribution, we hope to get many smiles among the children who wear our shirt and who knows, “sign” a new fan of Getafe CF and increase our family azulona.

Ramón Mayo, President of SEUR Foundation: “We are very proud to collaborate with Getafe CF. Alberto Contador Foundation in this great solidarity initiative and very happy to participate in the delivery of bicycles and sports equipment in the villages of Imi Tazgi and Azioul. From our Foundation we dedicate ourselves to help the most underprivileged children, through solidarity logistics and we are committed to the values of closeness, efficiency and honesty”.

In this trip, which will take place over a week, will also be present the winner of the draw which awarded a place on this trip to the person graced among all who donated a bicycle at one of the collection points enabled, both dealers of the firm ŠKODA as Seur offices. After a draw held before a notary on 4 July 2019, the winner was José Manuel García with registration number 201903048460728000.
