Alberto Contador joins the team of cycling commentators of Eurosport channel

Having just completed his retirement from professional cycling, Alberto Contador faces a new challenge closely linked to the sport in which he has spent a large part of his life. The former rider from Madrid is joining Eurosport channel as a commentator, a channel that broadcasts the main races of the international cycling calendar.

Alberto Contador, the only Spanish cyclist to have won the three ‘grandes’ (Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and Vuelta a España), has 69 professional victories to his name. “Eurosport’s invitation to collaborate as a commentator has made me very excited because I love cycling, it’s my passion and I enjoy it not only competing, but also watching it. This is an opportunity that motivates me to continue to be at the foot of the cannon and follow the news of the races,” he said.

“Eurosport’s proposal is attractive for several reasons, starting with the fact that it will help me to keep my passion for my sport alive and, as I am a very active person, I will also be able to stay in direct contact with the cycling world, with friends and former team-mates. I hope to be able to give the viewers a bit of my experience as a rider and share with them anecdotes and knowledge that they might find interesting. I am very happy to embark on this new path in which I also hope to learn things from being on the other side of the action and, of course, to continue having fun watching good cycling,” he added.
