“Our objective as a Foundation is twofold: to raise awareness of stroke as a disease and to give back to cycling everything it has given us”

Francisco Javier Contador represented the Fundación Alberto Contador this Friday morning at the Sports Talks held at the headquarters of the Science and Technology Park of Extremadura in the city of Badajoz as part of the l International Professional Forum on Innovation in Sport and Gaming.

Contador shared a table with Lola Romero, general director of Club Atlético de Madrid Féminas; Luis Gómez, brand and corporate reputation director of Iberdrola, Alfonso Arroyo, president of GOfit.es; Nacho Martínez Trujillo, CEO of Owqlo and José Javier Hombrados, Sports Director of the SEK Institution.

During his speech, Contador addressed among other issues ‘the process of creating the Fundación Alberto Contador Foundation’. “Our objective is twofold: on the one hand, to raise awareness of stroke as a disease, as well as to promote a healthy lifestyle as a very effective way to prevent this disease. On the other hand, we want to give back to cycling everything it has given us not only at a competitive level, but also as a way of life, by setting up various sports structures, from a school to a youth team, which have their zenith in the professional structure EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team”.

The International Professional Forum for Innovation in Sport and Gaming, the first of its kind to be held in the Iberian Peninsula, proposes a fair that will take place at the IFEBA Exhibition Centre, next to the border with Portugal, and will also organise presentations, workshops and activities related to health, sport and innovation that will take place in this and other venues in the Extremadura city.

“It has been a very enriching round table, during which very interesting issues have been addressed with very valuable points of view. You always learn a lot from speakers like those who have accompanied us in this initiative”, concludes Contador.
