The En Bici project participates in the Mobility Day at El Prado School in Pinto
The El Prado Infant and Primary School in the Madrid town of Pinto held a new edition of its Mobility Day on Tuesday 24 September, an educational day that is part of the objectives of encouraging and promoting sustainable mobility and greater awareness of the need for effective and binding environmental protection proposed each year by the European Mobility Week.
The En Bici project of the Contador Foundation, with the cycling coach and monitor of the Plaza Eboli Cycling School Javier Cebolla as responsible for guiding the evolution of the day, brought the students of the centre closer to the reality of the benefits of cycling as a means of transport and gave some basic notions of mechanics.
On a pleasantly warm morning, the students changed the classroom environment for the outside of the school, where they also had a skill circuit where they could ride some bicycles and skates.
One of the objectives of this action is, through the bicycle, to promote active mobility that brings benefits to the improvement of physical health, to consolidate environmental awareness and the importance of the impacts and contributions that all individuals make through our actions; and of course to contribute to greater autonomy and responsibility in the process of growth of girls and boys.
Last July, the school celebrated its first half-century of life, fifty years of history that have seen the passing of several generations of local residents, five decades of training in values of future new citizens.
