Vuelta Cicloturista a Ibiza, with #CiclismoParaTodos of Idemticos

The Idemticos project of the Contador Foundation has been one of the protagonists of the 2024 edition of the Vuelta Cicloturista a Ibiza with its ambassadors José Manuel Dosdad, Alejandro Montero, Raúl Vallinot and Rubén Nova. In this 21st edition, the Balearic race paid tribute to the six living Spanish winners of the Tour de France. Miguel Indurain, Alberto Contador, Pedro Delgado, Óscar Pereiro, Carlos Sastre and Joane Somarriba were the protagonists of many photos and conversations. Federico Martín Bahamontes and Luis Ocaña, of course, were present in everyone’s memory.

‘For me it has been a real luxury to be able to ride and talk these days with Miguel Indurain, Carlos Sastre, Óscar Pereiro, Pedro Delgado, Alberto Contador and Joane Somarriba, or to be able to talk with Bahamontes’ family and friends and with so many people. And to have the recognition of everyone gives you a feeling that makes you feel very special’, said ambassador Raúl Vallinot after his participation.

The Madrid native, who took part in the 2024 edition along with José Manuel Dosdad, Álex Montero and Rubén Nova, explains: ‘This march has a concept that I love: to be able to ride all together surrounded by cyclists of all levels and with the presence of illustrious riders such as the six living Spanish winners of the Tour de France; all this makes this 21st edition a very special event. It is worth noting that this year there was a very large female participation, another hallmark of this march. The scenery, the participants, the surroundings and the very tough walls to climb that push everyone to the limit… A very special event’.

Alberto Contador said: ‘We’ve had fantastic days, we’ve stopped in beautiful, unique places. What makes the difference of the Vuelta Cicloturista a Ibiza is that we come without pressure, just to enjoy’. A representation of cyclists from the youth team of the Contador Foundation also took part in this weekend’s outings.

Vallinot also highlights the prominence of paracycling in this recently concluded edition: ‘The Vuelta a Ibiza is also identified by its inclusion and this has been the edition with more participants with disabilities, making a well-deserved tribute to Ricardo Ten for his success in the Paralympic Games and the World Championships. And without forgetting Juanjo Méndez, because it all started with him’. Rubén Nova made history with his handbike: ‘It was incredible, and very hard; but I had a great time doing the route and the treatment from everyone was exceptional’.
