“After the stroke, for me winning that queen stage in the Tour Down Under in Australia was more important than winning a Tour de France”

Alberto Contador was the protagonist of one of Cadena Ser’s ‘Ser Ciclista’ podcasts. The Madrid-born cyclist reviewed his sporting career, his life’s adventures and some of the aspects of the work of the Foundation that bears his name. “If I have to choose one moment, I would choose 2005. In 2004 I suffered a stroke. It seemed that I was the future of cycling and I found myself in hospital. Fortunately they were able to operate on me and after five months of recovery I was able to compete again. For me, winning that queen stage in Australia was more important than winning a Tour de France.
