Alberto Contador auctions off his bike from the 2011 Giro d’Italia and Tour de France and raises more than 22,500 euros for the Red Cross
The professional cyclist Alberto Contador raised more than 22,500 euros for the Red Cross, 22,550 euros to be precise, through the auction of a bicycle from his personal collection with which he competed in both the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France in 2011. Contador thus joined the #CruzRojaResponde Campaign to raise funds for the fight against COVID-19.

“This bike is very special to me. It is the bike of the Edna, of the attack in Télégraphe with the finish in Alpe d’Huez…. I decided to donate it to fight against this covid-19 that is doing us so much harm”, he said.
