Another hundred of your donations on their way to those affected by the DANA in the province of Valencia
A truck loaded with a hundred bicycles left this Friday, 22 November, from the workshop of the Bicis para la Vida by Škoda project to the Valencian Community for the next distribution among the victims of the terrible DANA that, more than three weeks ago, caused a lot of material and human damage in several parts of the province of Valencia.
The expedition, the second chartered with the support of the Contador Foundation project, gathered up to ninety bicycles that have been donated during these two weeks by individuals and institutions through the network of official SEUR centres and at the headquarters of the Foundation’s Cycling Academy, in the Plaza Éboli Shopping Centre. The bicycles have been fitted by volunteers from the Fundación El Buen Samaritano, the AMP of Pinto, Aurum Bikes and, in an action carried out this week, workers from Amazon’s logistics centres in the town of Illescas, Toledo.
Another ten mounts have joined the expedition from the Madrid town of Coslada, where several institutions, businesses and social entities, including the Association of Road Safety Education Professionals of the Community of Madrid and the La Espinilla Neighbourhood Association, set up a solidarity family bike repair workshop at the La Factoría Cultural Centre for this purpose.
This new contingent joins all the donations and solidarity initiatives that are arriving from different parts of Spain to provide solutions and help solve the serious problems of daily mobility among those affected by the DANA. This whole process is a synergy that begins and is possible thanks to your donations, you are the true and only architects. A number of institutions, companies and personalities are cooperating in a coordinated manner to channel and distribute them: the priority is the people affected.
We continue!
