Castelldefels Local Police donates 22 bicycles to Bicis para la Vida by Škoda

The Bicis para la Vida by Škoda project took advantage of the last delivery of material in Zaragoza to travel to the Baix Llobregat region and collect a large donation of bicycles in the town of Castelldefels. The local police force handed over 22 bicycles to Ángel López, who is in charge of logistics for the initiative.

This batch of material comes from the collection and storage of bikes that were abandoned in the streets of the town or from the end of the conservation period, pending the relevant claims, derived from different actions of the corps. This generous contribution to the Contador Foundation project joins other past experiences with local police forces such as those developed in Torrevieja, Haro or Ávila.

The Catalan population, through several of its institutions, has increased its commitment and collaboration with different projects related to the world of cycling. The city council, through a social volunteering programme, ‘Bicis sense edat’, which facilitates rides on tricycles adapted for the elderly or people with reduced mobility. Since 2023, the city has been part of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area’s bike-sharing network, AMBICI.
