Great success of participation in the VII Gran Fondo Alberto Contador at Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort

Alberto Contador was the main protagonist in the seventh edition of the cycling race that bears his name, which brought together more than 1,200 participants at the start of the Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort. The facilities of this hotel complex, very focused on sport and especially cycling, hosted the start and finish of the race, 157 kilometres that were especially attractive thanks to the excellent weather, with sunshine and spring temperatures.

Alberto Contador finished the Gran Fondo with the two amateurs who finished in the lead and commented that it had been “a good day of work for the preparation I’m starting now for the Tour de France”. The Trek-Segafredo leader was accompanied by his teammate Boy Van Poppel, on holiday this week in Alicante and also preparing for his next objectives, especially the Dutch Championships.

The Gran Fondo Alberto Contador, although of itinerant character, will return next year to this same place on the Valencian coast given the great interest that the Oliva Nova Golf & Beach Resort has in the figure of Alberto Contador as an ambassador of the possibilities of this enclave to welcome cycling fans from all over northern Europe during the winter months.
