Idemticos ambassador Álex Montero returns to competitive experiences in the Madrid gravel championship
Gravel is by no means a temporay trend. It is a thriving cycling discipline, with a competitive fabric that is growing and, above all, with a growing community of regular riders who find in its particularities a sea of sensations. There are already Spanish Cups, World Cups, World Championships, National Championships, International Series of enormous prestige, exclusive races and even specific journalistic publications that follow the evolutions of an industry that has also turned to this niche. The ambassador of the Idemticos project, Alejandro Montero, is one of those lovers.
The Madrid-born MC3 cyclist took part this weekend in the Community of Madrid Championships in the discipline, held in the southern town of Cubas de la Sagra. Montero there spread the Idemticos message and claimed a cycling for all with a great performance in which he finally obtained a tenth place in the final.
His assessment: “Last year I had a little thorn in my side about getting close to the podium, so I was well in front at the start. But I soon realised that it wasn’t my place, given the increase in level and participation. In my category there were almost thirty runners… In spite of that, I had a very good feeling, a better time than last year and a tenth place in the end after having a lot of fun”.
