Pablo García, on the podium in the last race of the U23 structure of the Fundación Contador after eleven seasons of sporting career

The cyclist from Madrid Pablo García, who in 2025 will be professional with Team Polti-Kometa, made a nice end of the competitive path for the under-23 structure of the Contador Foundation by fighting for the partial victory in the fourth and last stage of the Volta a Galicia and climbing to the third step of the podium in the final general classification, where José Luis Faura (Cortizo) won.

A very special last stage, with the race speaker Victorio Rodríguez chatting with the director Rafa Díaz Justo about the fact that the 127.5 kilometres starting in Sanxenxo and finishing in Portenovo were going to be the last for the under-23 structure. The amateur formation of the Foundation will not take to the roads in 2025 as part of a reorganisation that is being promoted to adapt the resources to the needs and realities of cycling today.

‘It’s a difficult day, it’s been more than ten years, almost a hundred riders and more than 40 professionals in this period… I think we have contributed a lot, we are not leaving forever, we will continue with the junior team. It’s a sad decision, but this is the trend in sport. It is a transition’, said Rafa Díaz Justo.
