The AMP of Pinto and John Smith, with the latest expedition of Bicis para la Vida by ŠKODA
A new distribution of material from the project Bicis para la Vida by ŠKODA in Moroccan territory is being finalized these days and in the preparations for this new expedition the contributions and support of the AMP of Pinto and the brand of sports equipment John Smith have been fundamental. A start in which, once again, different contributions and collaborations come together that enhance the interdisciplinary nature of the project.
The AMP, an institution dedicated to the full integration of people with disabilities, has revitalised its collaboration with the Alberto Contador Foundation by contributing to the preparations for the trip. Some of its members went to the Sagrada Familia de Urgel School, from Vallecas, in Madrid, to collect the twenty bicycles that have been donated by this educational centre within the framework of its collaboration with the project Bicis para la Vida by ŠKODA. Subsequently, these bikes were reviewed and fine-tuned by members of the association.
For this trip the sports firm John Smith, one of the sponsors of the sports structures of the Alberto Contador Foundation, joins with a very generous donation of material, up to thirty pairs of slippers, to distribute among the different villages of the Tessaout valley to be visited.
Mario Sánchez, social responsibility technician at AMP: “We have been collaborating with this project since the beginning, since the collection of bicycles that took place during the Tour of Spain 2012. For us it is a collaboration that makes a lot of sense. In our collective we are recipients of aid, but thanks to an initiative like this we become transmitters of it. It is no longer merely a question of training, receiving workshops on mechanics and maintenance of bicycles, goes further: it is satisfaction, personal fulfillment, for doing something with what you are going to help others. They, recipients of help, become senders of help. It is an intangible of great value”.
