The Plaza de Eboli Cycling Academy doubles in 2015 the quarry of Fundación Alberto Contador
The Plaza de Eboli Cycling Academy facing his second season in 2015, which has nearly doubled the number of students who began the previous year, when Alberto Contador Foundation decided to launch this young cyclists nursery where children from 7 to 14 years old are formed.
Felix Garcia Casas, director of the Plaza de Eboli Cycling Academy and Flex-Junior Team, says that this year has started with “29 children, including four girls, which have almost doubled the number of students who are already conducting outputs on mountain bike every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 on the tracks of Pinto surroundings”.
This is the first phase of the formation program of the Plaza de Eboli Cycling Academy, which will intensify throughout the season. “With BTT bikes children are taking skill with bike and improving fitness. From April, we will begin the sessions with road bike on the circuit we have enabled on an industrial area in Pinto, always departing from our base in the Éboli Plaza Shopping Center, where the headquarters of the School are”.
In parallel with the work with students of the School, Felix Garcia Casas not forget the work of promoting cycling, one of the key-ideas of Alberto Contador Foundation. “We are currently holding the ‘En Bici’ project, in which we are going to schools in Pinto and where we are asked to present the bicycle not so much in the sports field but in educational areas. We headed to students from third to sixth year of Elementary School, with different contents for each age group, with the intention of getting children to ride a bike, always respecting the rules of behavior and security measures”.
Going back to the students of the School, that in these winter months show that they are not afraid nor cold nor mud, Felix Garcia Casas says that works with two main objectives, “the promotion of cycling, that children come to us for cycling, and secondly, that they started in the competition. Since February we suggest attending competitions that take place in Madrid, first with BTT bikes and, from May, with road bikes. This year we already will go to the races with a significant representation”, concludes the director of the Plaza Eboli School, who this season has the support of two other monitors closely involved with training of young cyclists, Félix Gómez and Alvaro García, both essential for a quality and personalized work with a group of guys each day more numerous.
