The Riojan Triathlon Federation, in collaboration with the Fundación Rioja Deporte, cooperate with the project Bicis para la Vida by Škoda

The Riojan Triathlon Federation (FERTRI), in collaboration with the Rioja Sports Foundation, presents Bicis para la Vida by Škoda, a project of the Fundación Alberto Contador Foundation, which aims to give a second life to unused bicycles by donating them to socially excluded groups, both in Spain and abroad.

These bicycles receive a tune-up in a workshop run by the Foundation, occasionally supporting people with some kind of functional diversity. In the workshop, basic mechanics and repair classes are also given to groups at risk of social exclusion as well as to high school students.

On the occasion of the arrival of La Vuelta to La Rioja, next Thursday 5 September 2024 at 19:00 at the Palacio de los Deportes, the Riojan Triathlon Federation will hand over to the Alberto Contador Foundation more than twenty bicycles collected from different Riojan administrations for this project.

Along with the FERTRI, companies such as Ebrorent (van rental) and Pasión Ciclista (bicycle shop and sizes) have collaborated.

The event will be attended by the alma mater of the project, Alberto Contador, a former professional cyclist with a track record of 69 victories as a professional; he is also the winner of the 2009 UCI Word Ranking. Among his most important victories are seven Grand Tours (Giro d’Italia 2008 and 2015, Tour de France 2007 and 2009, and Vuelta España 2008, 2012 and 2014).
