Victory in the opening team time trial of the Vuelta Ciclista a Madrid for Team Polti Kometa Development

Sport director of the U23 Team Polti Kometa Development, Rafa Díaz Justo has always shown his sympathy for the discipline of the team time trial. It is not in vain that he has spent a decade of his professional career in one of the structures, that of the ONCE, which used to give the best performances in this discipline. And as sometimes the saying “like father, like son” is very true, the teams led by Rafa always start with the aim of doing well. The team time trial is hard work. An example of this was the start of the Vuelta a Madrid 2024 on Wednesday 10 July: a 9-kilometre team time trial starting and finishing in Valdemorillo. Team Polti Kometa Development set the best time (11’14”) and made Italian Gabriele Bessega the first race leader. An individual leadership after a huge collective success.
