Alejandro Montero resumes his ‘diplomatic work’ with Idémticos at the mythical Clásica de Valdemorillo
Established for more than three decades in the first weeks of January, converted by its location in a first great personal goal for many practitioners of the sport of two wheels, the Clásica de Valdemorillo mountain bike again fulfilled its timely appointment in the calendar this 2024 with an edition that counted with Idemticos ambassador Alejandro Montero (MC3) among its attendees of its long race, over 55 kilometres.
Montero would once again take part in a popular gravel category, a discipline that is gaining more and more ground, in which he would finish seventh. The Clásica de Valdemorillo, since its creation in 1991, has established itself as the event responsible for kicking off the season both for mountain biking and, more recently, for gravel. In 2024 the race once again became part of the Circuito 7 Estrellas de la Comunidad de Madrid.
“Valdemorillo once again hosted the start of the season and this start has been better than last season. There is more and more participation and this one has a high level, the fish is much more expensive,” joked Montero. “At the start I was in a comfortable fifth place, but with about 10 kilometres to go I suffered a puncture, the fluid didn’t seal and I had to stop to change the inner tube. That’s part of the game! In the end, at the finish line, a seventh position that makes me very happy for the warmth of the race”.
