The Guernica School from San Fernando de Henares features ‘Idemticos’ in its diversity conference
Sometimes it is joked that there are days for everything. Days that convey visibility or highlight the value of events, phenomena, circumstances or realities. There are days and days. And in the process towards a better, more inclusive and empathetic society, certain anniversaries are fundamental and necessary for their pedagogical contribution. Learning through values, knowledge through an approach to other realities that need not be different. Raising awareness as a tool for better coexistence. The United Nations (UN) established back in 1992 that every 3 December should be International Day of Disability. Although the label is subject to debate, not so much in substance as in form, 3 December is a very important date to highlight the reality of functional diversity.
The Guernica school in the Madrid town of San Fernando de Henares, a reference in the town for its educational project that celebrated its first twenty-five years of existence a few months ago, received on Tuesday a delegation of the ‘Idemticos’ project of the Contador Foundation to discuss diversity in sport, with cycling, and cycling, as the main argument, although not the only one. Fourth, fifth and sixth graders from the school attended the information sessions given by Raúl Vallinot, an adapted cyclist and one of the ambassadors of this Foundation initiative, and they were full of surprisingly generous questions and comments. A wonderful morning marked by the concerns of the students, the citizens of tomorrow.
Thank you for your welcome and for the enormous interest you have shown at all times in a #SportForAll through #CyclingForAll.
