Alberto Contador Foundation teams conclude their first pre-season training camps
This penultimate week of the year 2022 has concluded the concentrations of the three sports structures of the Alberto Contador Foundation. Both the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team of the ProTeam category and the U23 team have held a meeting at the Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort, fifteen and seven days respectively, while the junior squad has developed three days of coexistence at the Sercotel Princesa Éboli in Pinto.
The EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team faces his second season in the ProTeam category. The squad is led by the Italian Lorenzo Fortunato, stage winner in the last edition of the Giro d’Italia, the day with finish on Monte Zoncolan, and winner of the overall and a stage with finish on Monte Grappa of the Adriatica Ionica Race.
The Italians Vincenzo Albanese, Francesco Gavazzi, Davide Bais, Samuele Rivi, Edward Ravasi, Alessandro Fancellu, Giovanni Lonardi, Mirco Maestri, Simone Bevilacqua and Diego Rosa; the Spaniards Arturo Grávalos, Alejandro Ropero, Diego Pablo Sevilla, Álex Martín, David Martín, Sergio García; Hungarians Erik Fetter and Marton Dina; Briton Mark Christian and Portuguese Daniel Viegas complete a team with Stefano Zanatta, Sean Yates, Jesús Hernández and Biagio Conte in the management.
The EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team U23/U23 squad, directed by Rafa Díaz Justo and Dario Andriotto, is formed by ten Spanish riders and seven Italians: Edoardo Mauro Alleva, Marcel Camprubí, David Domínguez, Ramón Fernández, Arnau Gilabert, Antonio González, Sebastiano Minoia, Andrea Montoli, Francisco Muñoz, Manuel Oioli, Andrea Pietrobon, Davide Piganzoli, Gabriele Raccagni, Javi Serrano, Fernando Tercero, Marc Terrasa and Pablo Uría. This is the ninth year of existence of the team in this category.
For the U19 junior EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team the 2022 will be the tenth year of existence. Directed by Guillermo Gutiérrez and Félix García Casas, the riders who make up the team are Joel Diaz, Lucas Guillermo, David Puente, Pedro García, César Pérez, Nil Aguilera, Joan Cadena, Álex García, Héctor García, Alem Herráiz, Ivan Polo, Manuel Sanroma and the Hungarians Gergo Magyar, Balázs Lászloó Pollner and Bálint Feldhoffer.
“This first training camp is always very important to lay the foundations for the following season. Although we have previously held some physical meetings, and several more telematically, in these stages the riders can start working with the new AURUM bikes, adjust and adapt to their geometry, and bond with the rest of the teammates, both veterans and newcomers. Logistically, three meetings of this scale, each one adjusted to the needs of its category, of course, is a lot of work and requires a lot of effort and resources. But they are essential. We are very happy with the work we have done and the blocks we have managed to form at all levels, both riders and staff. The prospects for 2022 are unbeatable,” says Fran Contador, general manager of the teams.
