The En Bici project visits the IES Humanejos Secondary School in Parla (Madrid)
The En Bici project returned this Tuesday to the classrooms of an educational centre in the Community of Madrid. The Secondary School Humanejos, in the town of Parla, hosted the informative day on cycling promoted by the Alberto Contador Foundation.
Javi Cebolla, physical trainer of the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team of the Foundation and instructor of the Plaza Éboli Cycling Academy, and Raúl Vallinot, ambassador of the Idemticos project also promoted by the Foundation, were in charge of giving the talks together with Paco Romero, director of the social area.
Types of bikes, notions of basic mechanics, road safety and sustainability were some of the topics covered in a day in which they also talked about all the sporting modalities of cycling and explored adapted cycling in depth.
The En Bici project was launched by the Contador Foundation in 2014, under the direction of Félix García Casas, with the Plaza Éboli Cycling Academy as the axis and with the guidance of the Galiana Project promoted at that time by the city council of Pinto, and since then it has visited centres in the town of Pinto, Parla and Madrid.
Paco Romero, General Manager of the Foundation’s social area: “It has been a real pleasure to talk about sustainability, healthy habits and road safety related to cycling. I strongly believe in the importance of promoting a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle, and I am convinced that by encouraging cycling we can contribute to this. I hope that what they learnt in this talk will inspire them to make positive changes in their lives and to be more aware of their impact on the world around them”.
The En Bici project continues this week with new educational activities around the world of cycling.
