The AMP Association supervises a bicycle repair workshop of the Fundación Contador at Avis Rent a Car headquarters

The AMP and the Fundación Contador’s Bicis para la Vida by Škoda project travelled this Monday to the headquarters of Avis Rent a Car in Spain, located in the Hortaleza district of the capital, to develop a small bicycle repair workshop intended especially, but not exclusively, for its employees to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The members of the AMP Pinto were able to explain first-hand what their work consists of and how they contribute to giving a second life to the bicycles that are donated to this initiative of the Contador Foundation. They were able to share their knowledge and skills with a representation of workers from this world leader in the car rental sector.

This Avis initiative is part of its action plan in the field of corporate social responsibility. Through it, it has been possible to develop a nice synergy with the support of the Fundación Contador. The bikes repaired and tuned by Avis employees under the supervision of AMP members during this Monday morning will be donated in the near future to an institution based in the Villaverde neighbourhood that works with women at severe risk of exclusion.

Among the objectives of this workshop are to disseminate the use of bicycles as ecological and healthy transport, to give a second life to products that are not used and thus avoid being turned into waste and, finally, to consolidate very positive values for society, such as cooperation, help, the reuse of materials and the stimulation of sporting activities.
