Alberto Contador unveiled in Segovia their Specialized-U23 and Flex-Junior U19 Teams for the 2014 season

Alberto Contador today unveiled in Segovia  their teams Specialized-U23 and Flex-Junior U19 for the 2014 season, which goes a step further in his support to base cycling, initiated last year through his Foundation.

After launching the Junior team in 2013, this year Alberto Contador Foundation grows and consolidates its work with a new team U23, which has increased to 28 the number of young riders enrolled in this project, which is the maximum sport responsible José Luis Santos, supported now by former pro riders also Félix García Casas and Rafa Díaz Justo.

Fran Contador, manager and head of the Foundation, has managed to boost the project with the arrival of new sponsors, especially Flex and Northgate, which thus bind to the support provided from the start by Specialized.

In the ceremony held today Segovia, with the city’s mayor, Pedro Arahuetes, serving as host, were also present the CEO of Specialized Spain, Miguel Rojo, the director of marketing for Flex, Gerardo España, the Commercial Director of Northgate, Eduardo González de La Rocha, and other sponsors and the presidents of the Spanish and Castilla y León Cycling Federations, Jose Luis Lopez Cerrón and  Roberto Coca,  respectively.

Alberto Contador, meanwhile, noted his commitment with cycling is “for doing the right things, because that’s how results come at the end, but that’s not what’s important to us, otherwise educate kids and make they know cycling”.
