On April 20, the first Family Bike Ride in favour of research against childhood cancer

The first edition of the Family Bike Ride against childhood cancer will take place in Pinto on 20 April, organised by the Pinto City Council, Mirasur School and the Fundación Alberto Contador. The event is the result of the collaboration and joint effort to promote fundamental values such as effort, self-improvement and teamwork among the students of the school, as well as the promotion of sports throughout Pinto. Registrations for this walk, which will raise funds for the Asociación Bomberos Ayudan for child cancer research, can already be made at Mirasur School and Rockthesport.

Fernando González, second deputy mayor and councillor of Sports of Pinto: “From the City Council of Pinto we are committed to support the Alberto Contador Foundation and Mirasur School, in the Solidarity Bike Ride to raise funds against childhood cancer, which will be held in the coming days in our city. Pinto, in the last Solidarity March Against Childhood Cancer, has already shown that it is a municipality of solidarity and, in this way, bringing families together again, doing sports activities again, in a festive and also vindicating day, we will manage to help many people and many families who, without a doubt, need it”.

Pedro Sampedro, director of Mirasur School: “The capacity for self-improvement and resilience that sports such as cycling promote are crucial aspects in the development of an individual. At Mirasur School we strive to cultivate these values in our students, promoting activities that encourage self-improvement and the ability to face challenges”.

Alberto Contador, president of the Foundation that bears his name: “Cycling teaches us the importance of effort. That falling down is not the end, but an opportunity to get up stronger. Because learning to get up after a fall not only strengthens character, but also teaches us the valuable lesson that failure is not permanent, but an opportunity to learn and grow”.

Registration, until 8 April 2024, at this link.
