The Barcelona cyclist Fran Muñoz achieved this Sunday in the II Copa de Vigo, last race of the Spanish Cup Elite U23 promoted by the RFEC, the first victory of a Fundación Contador rider in the overall of this tournament.

This 2022 edition of the competition concluded with a very tough race in Vigo, organized by the Club Ciclista Rias Baixas, in which he had to overcome more than 4,000 meters of accumulated unevenness in its 180 kilometres of route. Muñoz, who started the day as leader and with a significant advantage if everything went smoothly, saved the day and was able to wear the final red and yellow jersey.

A very special success for the Contador Foundation’s trophy cabinet, since the victory of the rider from Mataró is the first overall victory in the Cup for the structure since its creation. A participation in the Spanish Cup that will be unforgettable, with the victory in the overall individual final, two victories, four podiums and up to fourteen places in the top ten.
