The best possible start to the season for the U23 team: victory for Fernando Tercero in the Manuel Sanroma Memorial

Memorial Manuel Sanroma
Stage 1: Almagro – Alarcos Archaeological Park (122 km)
Stage 2 : Almagro – Almagaro (168 km)

The rider from Valdepeñas Fernando Tercero was proclaimed winner of the 2022 edition of the Memorial Manuel Sanroma 2022 on Sunday, with Davide Piganzoli in second place on the final podium, Javi Serrano and Fran Muñoz finishing in the top ten (fifth and eighth, respectively) and the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team at the top of the overall team standings.

A great weekend for the team directed by Rafa Díaz Justo, with great protagonism in the race in both days. In the first one, the formation took advantage of the strong prevailing wind to select much the peloton and to form the creation of a leading group in which there were his seven riders. At the finish, on a slight slope, Fernando Tercero finished seventh.

In the second and final stage, with the climb to Las Huertezuelas and all the previous approach terrain on a narrow, winding and bumpy road as hot spots, the U23 squad again forced the selection with a very high pace that stimulated a distant attack by both Fernando Tercero and Davide Piganzoli, finally third and second in the stage but climbed to the top of the general classification.
