The Plaza Éboli Cycling Academy travels to Almagro to take part in the Daniel Rodríguez Memorial

A different, exciting Saturday, and a whole experience, in the heart of the Fundación Contador’s Plaza Éboli Cycling Academy. The training structure supported by the shopping centre, the bicycle company Aurum and the Pinto centre of the hypermarket chain E.Leclerc travelled to the town of Almagro, about 200 kilometres from Madrid, to take part in the XXXI edition of the Daniel Rodríguez Memorial, the inaugural race of the Castilla-La Mancha Cycling Federation Trophy for school cycling.

The event, organised by the Almagreño Cycling Club, headed by Salvador Chaves, was held on a flat circuit located in the fairgrounds, a route in which the passage next to the sculpture commemorating the great Manuel Sanroma stood out. The sprinter, who burst onto the professional scene in the 1999 season with several prestigious victories, died tragically after a fall in the final part of a stage of the Volta a Catalunya that same year. The Escuela Plaza Éboli was not the only structure from Madrid present, as cyclists from UC Fuenlabrada, the Escuela Ciudad de Parla and the Escuela de Ciclismo Rodríguez Magro also took part.
