AURUM and the Alberto Contador Foundation join forces for Bicis para la Vida by ŠKODA

Cycling is much more than a sport; it can also be a tool for social change and for improving people’s quality of life. AURUM and the Alberto Contador Foundation are strengthening their ties by initiating a strategic collaboration with the Bicis para la Vida by ŠKODA project promoted by the institution created by the Madrid cyclist. Within the framework of this collaboration, AURUM will provide financial support that will enable the scope of the donations to be expanded and to reach more people.

Bicis para la Vida by ŠKODA was born within the context of the Vuelta 2012 with the aim of collecting unused bicycles to donate them to groups and communities at risk of social exclusion. In 2018, the Czech carmaker ŠKODA increased its collaboration with the project and allowed it to grow in strength, autonomy and capacity. Since its creation, more than a thousand bicycles have been distributed in different locations on the Peninsula and abroad (Morocco, Senegal and Uganda, among others).

In addition, the ambassador and image of AURUM María Salvo will be part of the next large donation of bicycles that Bicis para la Vida by ŠKODA will make in the Moroccan High Atlas, a solidarity trip that is scheduled to take place during the month of September. Through their first-person experiences, their testimony will allow us to focus on how the second life of these bicycles can transform lives. Especially in isolated or remote geographic locations, where a bike emerges as an essential means of transport for both children and adults in their daily lives, whether to go to school, fetch water or other basic needs.

From AURUM Bikes want to involve everyone interested in collaborating with this cause. Every small gesture counts and will make a difference in the lives of those who depend on bicycles as a vital means of transport.
