Large representation of Fundación Contador teams and projects in the first edition of the Madrid Criterium

I Madrid Criterium
Madrid, 4 December 2022

The sports structures and projects of the Contador Foundation have had their share of presence this Sunday in the various tests that were held as part of the first edition of the Madrid Criterium cycling, held on a circuit on the Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid. The event brought together one of the biggest names in cycling today, the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, and several of the most outstanding cyclists on the current Spanish cycling scene.

Members of the Escuela de Ciclismo Plaza Éboli (Álvaro Martínez Ramiro and Alejandro Sánchez), several of the ambassadors of the Idemticos project (Eva Moral, Gonzalo García Abella, Christian Silva, Alejandro Montero and Carlos Javier Mozos), a rider of the U23 team that will jump to professionalism in 2023 (Javi Serrano) and the Madrid rider of the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team took part in the day.

Carlos Rodríguez, Juan Pedro López or Raúl García Pierna, today professional cyclists, have also spent seasons ago in Fundación Contador teams.

Before the professional race, the programme of events started with the children’s relay race and adapted cycling, promoted by the Federación Madrileña de Ciclismo, in which cyclists from different schools and athletes with functional diversity starred in a spectacular start of the Sunday event.
